#ifIhadglass

12/1/13
Well I do! Or I will. All great leaps start with that heart stopping moment when you realize you are going to jump. For me it was sifting through junk emails December 2nd. When I came across an email with the subject "Your Chance to Buy Glass". At first I did not believe.

The application I filled out was very simple. Name, address, email and why to you want Google Glass. None of the choices applied because my reasons was educational so I put other. In order to give myself an edge I put my twitter handle @julieAllThat after my first name. About five days later, I got the invite. I think much of this was luck of timing. The EX11 Google Glass was due for release about the time I applied.

Taking Google Glass to school band concerts.

Last night at Emily's band concert at the middle school I brought Google Glass. Videoing works so much better. It's much more comfortable because you do not have to hold up anything.

A man from one of the "big three" asked about it and now I am presenting at their headquarters. Really looking forward to spreading the word about Google Glass.

The same night my son had a marching band performance too. I am recording a video. It's great all those other parents are holding there phones. On the long song their arms start to sag. Then they do a jerky to correct. I am just sitting enjoying the music.  You know that TV ad where the parents fight to get the best shot. There's a Glass version of that.

But there's the part that even funnier. My son is in drumline. I love listening to the music. Sometimes too much because I start bobbing my head in time with the beat. That makes for an odd recording!

first glass outing #throughglass #1Kglass

My son's marching band went to Sarinia, Canada to be in the parade of lights they do. It's a night time parade. I brought Google Glass. We were concerned about the cold, but Glass was fine.
As I talked the parade, I heard a few people making comments. "Look she's watching TV" when I was taking a video. or "she's gone one of those head things".
The best part was seeing the faces of the kids I let try it. None of them asked but when I offered their faces lit up.
For the 1KGlass project, I want to take a picture of each kids that tries Glass. I learned you do not take the picture the first moment the put on Glass. You need to wait for that moment when they get it. That "aha". That's when you take the pic.
They could all figure out how to use Glass. We were out of the country so no wifi but they could still get a feel for it.
I am so excited about bringing this innovation to kids and inspiring them to create the next innovation!
Pics will follow.
